I was trying to find the Nirvana VMA performance where Krist Novoselic throws his bass in the air and it comes back and hits him in the head. Sadly, they did not have that performance on mtvmusic, but I did find this 1992 performance of Drain You that I remember watching. Still just as good today as it was then.
After the hype
So, the Kanye meme is dying down and since I’m not hip to what the kids like these days and I no longer have cable I had not yet seen Beyonce’s (or Taylor Swift’s) video yet. So tonight I was bored and I headed over to mtvmusic to see “the best video of all time.”
Sorry to say it kids, but Beyonce’s video isn’t that great. I dunno, I mean I’ll be...

Very interesting read about blogs and their myriad misuse. I like the Q&A at the end of what service or type of service you should be using based on the purpose of your content.

Food tattoos →
Great photo set of food tattoos from Statesman food writer Addie Broyles. The Martha Stewart tattoo freaks me out, but otherwise this makes me want a new tattoo. It probably won’t be broccoli though.

Amazon.com Launches AmazonBasics: Private-Label... →
I’m not gonna lie, I’m a total sucker for Amazon. I signed up for Amazon Prime a couple years ago to get free 2 day shipping for a coffee maker and still haven’t cancelled it. Between birthdays and Christmas and all the other crap I order from them it has paid for itself for me anyway.
That said, I’m pretty excited about this new announcement that Amazon is going to...
Random Find of the Day
I decided to randomly check out the theme options for Gmail today. I’d been using the Tree theme for awhile, which is neat because it will change with the weather and day/night time. But apparently Google has been busy, there are a bunch of new themes. I am now using High Score which turns your Gmail into an 8-bitified version of itself. They really got the details on this one, including...
Amazing time lapse video shot around San Francisco. Definitely check out the nighttime airport shots around the 3:30 mark very cool looking.

Some day we will be able purchase something from Amazon and be able to manufacture what we order within hours or someone will just invent a teleporter. Either way, we can’t be too far from the robot apocalypse.
Music Picks
I’ve got 2 albums to throw out there that you may or may not enjoy, but I have been listening to a lot lately, maybe too much and I’m bored so I thought I would share.

Oh man, I love this site. I don’t recall where I heard about it, but all of the recipes look delicious and what we’ve tried has been awesome. I highly recommend the site and I was super excited about the fact that they have a cookbook out now! It went straight to my wish list (no unnecessary spending at my household this month due to impending house buying).

Searching far and wide for an IPA →
Maybe creating an authentic IPA by actually putting it on a boat is the new hotness. Or something. Either way I may have to check out the book referenced in the article, unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available in the US.
Update: Apparently, this guy has written other books on beer that are available in the US. Could be interesting…

The wagon is the new SUV? →
I just got an email from Honda touting their new crosstour wagon concept car. Subaru has been doing a good job for awhile now with their WRX wagon. I have to wonder if the fact that Honda is looking at making a wagon is a sign that wagons are going to be the new SUV. Although they will never live up to the station wagons of my childhood. For that matter, who knew there was a...
