Steve puts the smack down on Adobe.
Flash was created during the PC era – for PCs and mice.
Cue the End of Queues →
The Alamo Drafthouse is doing away with lines before movies. Follow the link to read all the details. The quick summary is that they are going all Southwest Airlines on their lines. Now you will get a group number when you pick up your ticket and you can drop in at seating time and get in. As we all know from flying Southwest, there will still be some line waiting, but this should make things...
Jester King Craft Brewery: TABC Approval Received →
This blog post from Jester King Brewery only highlights some of the weird hoops brewers in Texas have to jump through. I sincerely hope that this new wave of craft brewers can bring about some positive change. Other states cough Oregon cough recognize they can bring in business (and tax revenue) by creating laws friendly to brewers, apparently in Texas we have to do it bass-ackwards. Around...
App Store submission offers wireless iTunes sync... →
Wireless sync is my number one most wanted feature for the iPhone. I’d prefer it if it was just automatic so that when I came into range of my home wifi connection it would update my podcasts and sync, but I will take this.
My number two most wanted feature would be to be able to rate songs in the iPod pop-up control (the one you get when you hit home twice). I hate that I have to leave...
Fun with Google Analytics
So I run google analytics on my blog. You may wonder why I would do that for a personal blog that a handful of friends and family read. Basically, I do it because it’s free and because sometimes there is something interesting in the statistics. Today was one of those days. I noticed that someone landed on my site from google after searching for “products with porcine...
Why did the FTC help Trader Joe's break into... →
I continue to be amazed at the ridiculous nature of the Whole Foods “anti-trust” case. The fact that this whole debacle is still going on and that the FTC is offering de facto subsidies to create competition is just wrong. This is one area where I am squarely in the corner of let the market figure it out. If Portland wants a Trader Joe’s let them ask Trader Joe’s for it...

Updated Brewery Map →
I received a great response to my brewery/brewpub map of Austin and beyond. Based on some feedback I received I have made some additions, corrections, and adjustments. Here is a quick summary of changes:
Added in a few outlying brewpubs that I hadn’t heard of (clearly I don’t get outside Austin enough)
Added Whip-In as a future brewpub
Added Spoetzl (I don’t know how I...

Austin and Surrounding Area Breweries →
I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile. With all of the many breweries that seem to be popping up around Austin I thought it would be fun to make a map of all of the breweries and brew pubs in the Austin area. The map shows all of the breweries that are open or at least have a known location. I added the up and coming breweries that I know of but do not have a location in the map...
The Heavy on Letterman →
My friend Brandon recommended I watch the Heavy perform on Letterman. I’ve seen a fair amount of bands on late night shows and invariably their performances suck. I think most of the time it’s because there is no connection or interaction with the audience, but oh man, these guys did an amazing job. Check out the video and wait for the Letterman requested encore.

Those crazy guys over at BeerTownAustin are having their fun with 4/1
I still think they should have gone with my idea of Over A Pint with Bessie of Borden. The photoshop work would’ve been worth it alone…Then again I was too lazy to do it myself
