Homebrewin’ up a storm

On 1/1/2010 I put my roggenbier in bottles. Overall I think it was a successful brew, but I will know for sure in 3 more weeks. My goal for 2010 is to brew at least one batch every month. Which means that I need to start deciding my brew schedule.

I am pretty sure that for my next beer I am going to make the O’Dell 5 Barrel Pale Ale clone from Austin Homebrew. I got to try this beer at the O’Dell brewery a few years back when I went up to Colorado to drink beer and play disc golf with some buddies. It’s a mighty fine beer, so hopefully the clone can come close to the real thing.

After the 5 Barrel I’m not sure. My wonderful wife bought me the Dogfish Head Extreme Brewing book for Christmas and there are a ton of great recipes that I want to try out in there so I will probably grab something from there. Right now I really only want to make beer that I can’t get locally or that is not commercially available, otherwise why bother?

I will try and post here what I make as I go for my own records and in case anyone else cares.
